The big GIVE

First things first... Noelani won my 1000 Gifts giveaway! Congrats!  Don't forget to check Lauren's blog for her winner if you entered over there, too!
I'll be emailing you soon, Noelani!

Now that November is over and Christmas season is in full swing, brains are moving at 100 miles an hour thinking about holiday menus, parties, and gifts.  Christmas music is played everywhere and I bet there are more than a few Elf on the Shelf shenanigans going on.  This season is all about twinkling lights, Christmas trees, seasonal coffee, and gifts wrapped in big bows.

Or is it?

I love the fun, festive things this time of year brings, but I think that it is so easy to lose sight of the reason we celebrate.

Jesus Christ.

Jesus was born to be the ultimate lover, the best friend, the healer, the peace maker, the GRACE giver.  Jesus was born to die so that we could know life.

If THAT is the reason we celebrate, every other aspect should find its perspective.

Every year as the Christmas season approaches I get a magazine in the mail.  No, not a magazine filled with holiday recipes or decorating tips.  This magazine is full of gifts.  Gifts that truly GIVE.

SP-app

Samaritan’s Purse is the organization that does Operation Christmas Child, but they also do so much more. Every year they send out this gift catalog full of ways to give to those who truly need it.  For the past few years I have given gifts in honor of family and friends.  They get to know that you were thinking of them, while someone else gets a life changing gift.

Watch this video and see how the gifts we can give will change lives.

Isn’t that amazing?

This is where I will challenge you.  As a blog community, we have a loud voice.  When we stand together, we have the opportunity to make a difference.

A big difference.

Here is my challenge.

Let’s GIVE a water filter.  For $100, we can give the gift of a water filter to a family who needs clean water.
What a precious opportunity we have to give a life-changing gift.

I’m calling this “the big GIVE” and I am believing with confidence that it WILL be a big give.
So, will you do it?

Will you give $1, $5, or maybe even $50 so we can give water to a family?

I have created a button so that we can circulate this “bloggers give back” project all over blogland.  From today until December 20th, let's spread the word and give.  Who knows, we may even be able to give TEN water filters.  Wouldn’t you love to be part of the reason a life changes for a family?

Come on girls, let’s do it!
Spread the word and let’s give big.

Just click on the button to donate.  It's as simple as that!

PS: If you blog about this, be sure to let me know!
